I help people process grief and loss that leave deep sorrow. I offer individual counseling for adults facing life transitions and identity questions, support for couples struggling with communication and trust, and guidance for families living in chaos and disconnection—helping each find healing, clarity, and connection. I understand the deep impact of grief and loss—I've lived it myself. Through presence, faith, and intentional living, I’ve found a path forward. My approach is unique and may not be for everyone, but for those open to it, it can lead to peace, healing, and lasting change. If this speaks to you, I invite you to take the first step toward healing.
I earned a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University in 2012. Prior to becoming a counselor, I embraced the life of a military wife and mother while working in the mental health field as a case manager, mentor and child advocate. These experiences deepened my understanding of the challenges individuals and families face and strengthened my commitment to helping people navigate difficult seasons of life. As a military wife, now retired, I have a personal understanding of the unique challenges faced by military families, along with a working knowledge of military culture and resources--that community has a big part of my heart. Additionally, I have studied and been certified in natural horsemanship and equine assisted psychotherapy.
My clinical experience includes working with individuals and families, specifically with women, couples, and military spouses. I have clinical experience with trauma, betrayal trauma, attachment issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, infidelity, sexual addictions and grief. I use an integrative approach that includes Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, and Experiential approaches. My desire as a counselor is to meet people where they are and come alongside their journey through an approach that integrates faith, theory, and treatment. My Christian faith is an important part of my life. I believe God created nature with unique power to restore and heal us, and that when we spend time Word and Creation, we draw closer to Him. That said, it is completely up to the client if faith is involved in their therapy.
On a personal note, I am a wife and mother of two grown men. I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, and caring for our menagerie of beloved geriatric animals. I love to travel- from sea to summit- and have backpacked several portions of the AT. I love exchanging stories of family, pets and travel.
