Taking the step towards counseling can be extremely scary and daunting. My goal in the process is to foster a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard, seen, and empowered. My approach to counseling is both trauma-informed and person-centered, and I believe that each client is the expert on their own experiences. I am honored to come alongside others as they navigate the various ups and downs that life can bring and truly feel blessed to be able to process these experiences with others.
I approach the counseling space with authenticity, empathy, and curiosity. I most often draw from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Strengths Based Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. If the client chooses, I also enjoy implementing Christian Counseling and including faith conversations in the therapeutic process.
I received my undergraduate degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before continuing on to Appalachian State University for my master’s in social work, where my concentration was individuals and families. After graduating with my master’s, I began the licensure process and am currently practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. Several of my focus areas include trauma, anxiety, depression, infertility, spirituality, grief, and relationship issues.

In my free time outside of the counseling space, I enjoy drinking a good cup of coffee or tea, reading, traveling, creating art, and spending time with close friends and family.
